Australian racing data APIs compared: form services and price archives

Racing data APIs come in two kinds. Form services sell each runner's history: past runs, ratings and sectionals. Price APIs sell what the bookmakers offered and where they closed. Punting Form and The Racing API are form services, GreyhoundAPI is a greyhound results and exchange-price archive, FormFav sells form and, on its top plan, bookmaker prices, and PuntersEdge is a bookmaker price archive with thin form. Most model builders pair one of each.

Pair them

A form service tells you about the runner, and a price archive tells you what the market offered and where it closed. A model that picks runners from Punting Form's form still needs a price to bet at and a closing price to score itself against, which is the half PuntersEdge sells. Join the two on meeting date, venue and race number, then saddlecloth number.

Read both licences before you build anything public. Punting Form's API and FormFav's plans below Enterprise are for personal use only (their terms). Ours: what you may do with the data follows your plan: personal use on Free, Hobby and Standard; display with attribution on Plus; commercial use on Business and Scale; redistribution on Platform.

Checked 6 October 2026. Every figure for Punting Form, The Racing API, FormFav and GreyhoundAPI is read from the linked pages, which are theirs to change: if one has changed, tell us and this page will be corrected. These pages are re-checked every quarter. The PuntersEdge column renders from the same measurements as data quality and the coverage report. All comparisons.
