Racing polling is per book and it is not uniform. Measured over the trailing 7 days to 2026-09-20 through the 10:00–21:00 AEST card, the median age of a connector's last successful read is 9–16s for fourteen of the fourteen served books. There is no single racing poll interval to quote: the slowest served book is 2x the fastest, so any blanket figure is wrong for a named book. Every quote carries its own age_seconds — that is the number to gate on. How old the prices themselves are is a different statistic again — capture is change-only, so a price can be minutes old while the read that confirmed it was seconds old. Sports are slower by a different order: measured over 30 minutes on 2026-08-16, the median sports price was 14 minutes old, 49% were over half an hour old, and sports with nothing currently running sat near 3 hours. That is enough for pre-match pricing and line movement, and not enough for in-play.
