UK & Irish racing · Christmas 2026 · 68 days to go

Christmas racing 2026, as data: Kempton, Leopardstown, Chepstow and Newbury.

Every racing site will publish King George odds. This page is for the people building something over the holiday: the fixtures, what the archive already holds for each course, and what a British and Irish build needs working before Saturday 26 December.

PuntersEdge is a data API. It publishes no selections and takes no bets.

The fixtures

The feature races over the four days, as each course publishes them. Cards, start times and the final fields are the courses' to confirm; the API carries each race once the bookmakers price the day's card.

What a Christmas build needs working

Before Boxing Day

  • One call for the card. /v1/racing/next-to-go?country=GB,IE&category=horse returns every open British and Irish race with each bookmaker's win and place price as its own leg, and costs the same whatever it returns.
  • Place prices come from each-way terms. The UK books publish terms rather than a place market, so place_price is derived from the terms each one sets for the race, and places_paid says how many places they pay.
  • Decimal in the JSON. Show fractions only where a decimal sits on the UK ladder; the Python quickstart has the function.
  • Time is easy in December. Start times are UTC, and Britain and Ireland keep Greenwich Mean Time all winter, so the UTC time is the time on the racecard.
  • Settle the horizon. A free key reads 24 hours ahead, Standard 48, Plus and above 168. Every response states yours in X-Horizon-Hours.

On the day, and after

  • Expect non-runners. Winter ground thins jumps fields. A runner taken out is listed under scratchings and leaves the card; read the field rather than caching the morning's.
  • Watch, do not poll. /v1/racing/changes returns what moved since your last read, which is far cheaper than re-reading the whole card.
  • Starting prices on the result. /v1/racing/results?country=GB,IE gives the finishing order with every runner's SP, usually within minutes of the off.
  • Judge it on the close. The next morning, /v1/racing/closing-lines has each bookmaker's last price on every runner, which is the honest benchmark for anything your model did.
  • Not served: ante-post markets, exchange prices, Tote pools, dividends and race times.

Plans and the data licence

Plans are billed in Australian dollars; the pound and euro figures are approximate, at the European Central Bank's euro reference rate for 16 October 2026, and your card issuer converts at its own rate. A free key carries 3,000 credits a month with no card. What you may do with the data follows your plan: personal use on Free, Hobby and Standard; display with attribution on Plus; commercial use on Business and Scale; redistribution on Platform. Questions

When is the King George VI Chase in 2026?

Saturday 26 December 2026, at Kempton Park, as The Jockey Club, Kempton Park lists it (read 13 October 2026). Start times are the course's to confirm; the API carries each race's start_time once the bookmakers price it.

When is the Welsh Grand National in 2026?

Monday 28 December 2026, at Chepstow, as Chepstow Racecourse lists it (read 13 October 2026). Start times are the course's to confirm; the API carries each race's start_time once the bookmakers price it.

What time zone are the start times in?

UTC, as ISO 8601 with a trailing Z, on every race and every closing line. In December Britain and Ireland keep Greenwich Mean Time, so over Christmas the UTC time is also the clock time at the course.

Do you serve starting prices and results for these races?

Yes, for horse racing, from 6 October 2026. /v1/racing/results?country=GB,IE returns each race's finishing order with every runner's starting price (sp, with sp_fraction as the UK fraction) and the first four, with their starting prices, under placings. A result usually appears 4 to 10 minutes after the scheduled off and turns from interim to final 30 minutes after it first appears. An Irish result can arrive with the first four only; the rest of the order follows roughly 20 to 25 minutes after the off, while the result is still interim. Non-runners are listed under deductions, without a Rule 4 figure. There are no dividends, margins, race times or jockeys on these results. British greyhound results are served from 12 October 2026.

Which bookmakers price the Christmas meetings?

Ladbrokes / Coral, William Hill, Betway, Paddy Power and Sky Bet, each under its own bookmaker key, plus the Australian bookmakers that price British and Irish racing. Every bookmaker that quotes a race appears on it; the hub page measures who is on today's card.

Is this a tips page?

No. PuntersEdge is a data API: prices, closing prices and results as JSON. It publishes no selections and takes no bets.
